January 18, 2023 Regular Meeting

Call to Order

Vice President Jeff Stahl called the January meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.  Board members present were: Jessica Browning,Lori Campbell, Josh Hilbert, Martha Leeper, Jeff Stahl, and Matt Wood.  Absent: Stephanie Guerrero.

Administration

Also present: Superintendent Bob Meadows, SVP Principal Bethany Wellbaum, SVI Principal Kristina Sommer, SVMS Principal Jonathan Downing, and SVHS Principal Jonathan Field.

Pledge to the Flag

Mr. Downing led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Visitors

Jeff Stahl welcomed the visitors.  Visitors present were Rodney Allen and Keith Hildebrandt.

Executive Session

Josh Hilbert moved and Jessica Browning seconded the motion to enter closed session at 6:05 p.m. for the reasons stated on the agenda. Roll call vote: Ayes-.Jessica Browning, Lori Campbell, Josh Hilbert, Martha Leeper, Jeff Stahl, and Matt Wood. All voted in favor.  Motion carried.

Closed Session Adjournment

Jessica Browning moved and Matt Wood seconded the motion to re-enter open session at 6:21 p.m. Roll call vote: Ayes-.Jessica Browning, Lori Campbell, Josh Hilbert, Martha Leeper, Jeff Stahl,  and Matt Wood. All voted in favor.  Motion carried.

Closed Session Minutes

Lori Campbell moved and Josh Hilbert seconded the motion to accept the closed session minutes as read in closed session. Roll call vote: Ayes-.Jessica Browning, Lori Campbell, Josh Hilbert, Martha Leeper, Jeff Stahl,  and Matt Wood. All voted in favor.  Motion carried.

Employment

Jessica Browning moved and Matt Wood seconded the motion to employ Dylan Moore as an At-Will Custodian effective January 3, 2023. Roll call vote: Ayes-.Jessica Browning, Lori Campbell, Josh Hilbert, Martha Leeper, Jeff Stahl,  and Matt Wood. All voted in favor.  Motion carried.

Employment

Matt Wood moved and Josh Hilbert seconded the motion to employ Jeff Smith as a Part-Time,  At-Will Custodian effective January 17, 2023. Roll call vote: Ayes-.Jessica Browning, Lori Campbell, Josh Hilbert, Martha Leeper, Jeff Stahl,  and Matt Wood. All voted in favor.  Motion carried.

Consent Agenda

Martha Leeper moved and Jessica Browning seconded the motion to approve the consent agenda as presented. Roll call vote: Ayes-.Jessica Browning, Lori Campbell, Josh Hilbert, Martha Leeper, Jeff Stahl,  and Matt Wood. All voted in favor.  Motion carried.

Superintendent’s Report

Mr. Meadows opened discussion of a MS Girls Basketball Cooperative with TC.

Mr. Meadows reviewed the Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Service Plan.

Closed Session Minutes

Lori Campbell moved and Martha Leeper seconded the motion to keep the closed session minutes from July 2022 through December 2022 closed. Roll call vote: Ayes-.Jessica Browning, Lori Campbell, Josh Hilbert, Martha Leeper, Jeff Stahl,  and Matt Wood. All voted in favor.  Motion carried.

Facilities Use Agreement

Matt Wood moved and Josh Hilbert seconded the motion to approve the facility use request of the SV Youth League for softball and baseball pending proof of liability insurance.  All voted in favor.  Motion carried.

MS Promotion

Josh Hilbert moved and Martha Leeper seconded the motion to set MS Promotion for Friday, May 19, 2023 at 7:00 p.m.  All voted in favor. Motion carried. 

HS Graduation

Matt Wood moved and Josh Hilbert seconded the motion to set HS Graduation for Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. All voted in favor. Motion carried. 

The Special Meeting for Press Policy Update #110 is scheduled for February 1, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. in the Boardroom.  Dinner will be provided.

The next Regular Meeting is scheduled for February 15, 2023 at 6 p.m. in the Boardroom.
