May 11, 2022 Regular Meeting

Call to Order

President Stephanie Guerrero called the May meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Board members present were: Jessica Browning, Lori Campbell, Stephanie Guerrero, Josh Hilbert, Martha Leeper, and Matt Wood. Absent: Jeff Stahl

Administration

Also present: Superintendent Bob Meadows, SVI Principal Kristina Sommer and SVHS Principal Jonathan Field.

Mr. Meadows led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance.

President Stephanie Guerrero recognized and welcomed the visitors. Visitors present were: Michael Lee.

Closed Session

Matt Wood moved and Josh Hilbert seconded the motion to enter closed session at 6:07 p.m. for the reasons stated on the agenda. Roll call vote: Ayes-Jessica Browning, Lori Campbell, Stephanie Guerrero, Josh Hilbert, Martha Leeper, and Matt Wood. All voted in favor. Motion carried.

Josh Hilbert moved and Jessica Browning seconded the motion to accept the closed session minutes as read in closed session.Roll call vote: Ayes-Jessica Browning, Lori Campbell, Stephanie Guerrero, Josh Hilbert, Martha Leeper, and Matt Wood. All voted in favor. Motion carried.

Resignation

Matt Wood moved and Josh Hilbert seconded the motion to accept the resignation of Michael Lee as HS Biology Teacher and Head Football Coach effective May 31, 2022. Roll call vote: Ayes-Jessica Browning, Lori Campbell, Stephanie Guerrero, Martha Leeper, and Jeff Stahl. All voted in favor. Motion carried.

Resignation

Josh Hilbert moved and Matt Wood seconded the motion to accept the resignation of Heather Kuethe as MS Science Teacher, MS Cheer Coach, and MS Student Council Sponsor effective May 31, 2022. Roll call vote: Ayes-Jessica Browning, Lori Campbell, Stephanie Guerrero, Josh Hilbert, Martha Leeper, and Matt Wood. All voted in favor. Motion carried.

Resignation

Martha Leeper moved and Lori Campbell seconded the motion to accept the resignation of Brian Britton as 4th Grade Teacher effective May 31, 2022. Roll call vote: Ayes-Jessica Browning, Lori Campbell, Stephanie Guerrero, Josh Hilbert, Martha Leeper, and Matt Wood. All voted in favor. Motion carried.

Matt Wood moved and Josh Hilbert seconded the motion to employ JoBeth Page as a 4th Grade Teacher effective at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year. Consent Agenda

District Budget

Matt Wood moved and Martha Leeper seconded the motion to accept the tentative amended 2021-2022 district budget as presented. Roll call vote: Ayes-Jessica Browning, Lori Campbell, Stephanie Guerrero, Josh Hilbert, Martha Leeper, and Matt Wood. All voted in favor. Motion carried.

Budget Hearing

Jessica Browning moved and Lori Campbell seconded the motion to set the hearing for the amended 2021-2022 district budget as part of the regular board meeting on June 15, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. Roll call vote: Ayes-Jessica Browning, Lori Campbell, Stephanie Guerrero, Josh Hilbert, Martha Leeper, and Matt Wood. All voted in favor. Motion carried.

Floyd & Associates

Martha Leeper moved and Josh Hilbert seconded the motion to hire Floyd & Associates as our auditors for the 2022-2023 school year at a cost not to exceed $14,000. Roll call vote: Ayes-Jessica Browning, Lori Campbell, Stephanie Guerrero, Josh Hilbert, Martha Leeper, and Matt Wood. All voted in favor. Motion carried.

Board Meeting Schedule

Josh Hilbert moved and Jessica Browning seconded the motion to approve the 2022-2023 Board Meeting Schedule as presented. Roll call vote: Ayes-Jessica Browning, Lori Campbell, Stephanie Guerrero, Josh Hilbert, Martha Leeper, and Matt Wood. All voted in favor. Motion carried.

IASB Conference

Jessica Browning moved and Martha Leeper seconded the motion to approve the board to attend the IASB Joint Annual Conference on November 18-20, 2022. Roll call vote: Ayes-Jessica Browning, Lori Campbell, Stephanie Guerrero, Josh Hilbert, Martha Leeper, and Matt Wood. All voted in favor. Motion carried.

The hearing for the amended budget will be held on June 15, 2022, at 6 p.m. with the regular meeting to begin immediately after.
