Freshman Orientation

Freshman Orientation will take place on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, 6:00—8:00 pm at Sangamon Valley High School in Niantic.

This year, our student council and NHS members will be assisting incoming freshmen and their parents/guardians as they move through various stations throughout the high school. We will begin in the cafeteria to get everyone assigned to a group. Then the groups will go through four stations for approximately 20 minutes each. The stations include:

• Student Led Tour of the building with student council and NHS members

• Rules and Policies with Dr. Field and our new principal, Mrs. Burge

• Academic Advisement with Mrs. Antonacci

• Elective Courses with many of our elective instructors

After all four stations have been completed, everyone is invited to the high school gym to meet some of our coaches and activity sponsors. This will give students an opportunity to check out some of the high school's activities before next fall.

After the orientation night, Mrs. Antonacci (student services director) will come to the middle school at a later date to work with students on their class schedule.
