Welcome Back from Dr. Field

Sangamon Valley Families,

I hope that you have had an enjoyable summer with an opportunity to spend time with family and friends. We have been busy this summer getting things ready for the upcoming school year for both our staff and students.

I encourage you to take an active role in the education of our children as we work together to provide the best possible outcomes for all our students. On behalf of the faculty, administration and Board of Education, we are looking forward to the upcoming school year and our continued partnership. Our cooperation is the bedrock of all we strive to accomplish.

This year marks my eighteenth year in education and a huge change in my career as I take over as Superintendent of Sangamon Valley Schools. I have been very lucky to call Sangamon Valley home for twelve years, with the last nine as principal of Sangamon Valley High School. Prior to that, I served for two years as Sangamon Valley Middle School Principal after working as a special education teacher at Riverton Middle School and SASED Central High School for a total of seven years. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve these communities and I am looking forward to continue our work together.

I cannot thank Mr. Meadows enough for his guidance over the years and for his unwavering focus on the future of the district. His hard work and leadership have set the stage for great things to come. I have big shoes to fill and will do my best to provide the students, staff and families of Sangamon Valley with every possible opportunity for success!

I have been very blessed to work with all of you throughout my years at SV and I look forward to continuing to serve you for years to come!
